2 Corinthians 10:18 (NIV 1984)
For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends [v. 18].
We must remember to be humble. But, Let him who boasts [if he must] boast in the Lord [v. 17]. We are also told if we must boast, we should not boast beyond proper limits, but [should] confine our boasting to the field God has assigned to us [v. 13].
