Silent Auction:  On Friday December 14, from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM, a silent auction will be held in the Town Meeting Room of the Detroit Town Hall. Items for sale are similar to those found at yard sales and include some special or larger items. From knick-knacks to holiday decorating, to kitchen items, and more, come to check them out.  All items are marked with a minimum bid.  Because of the generosity of an anonymous donor, we will be awarding several bidder scholarships, so come early.  They will be awarded on a first come-first served basis.  Scholarships can only be applied toward the balance a recipient owes on successful bids.  No scholarship cash balances will be returned to recipient at the end of the auction.  At 5:00 PM all bidding will end, successful bidders will be determined, and they can then pay for their silent auction items.  As a successful bidder on silent auction items, you must be present at 5:00 PM to collect your items.

Crafters’ Group: During this silent auction time, the crafters’ group will be working on lap blankets, afghans, or quilts.  These items will be donated to those in local hospice care or to local agencies dealing with babies and children affected by shaken baby syndrome.  Come join us or to drop off handmade lap blankets, afghans, or quilts you would like to donate.

Movie Night:  Then, at 6:00 PM you are invited to join us for a FREE family friendly movie.  Free popcorn and drinks will be available.

These events are open to anyone. We hope you will join us, if you are in the area, for one or all of the events scheduled on Friday, December 14th.  All of the day’s events will be held in the Town Meeting Room of the Detroit Town Hall located at 35 South Main Street, Detroit, Maine. The day’s activities are hosted by the River Run Church of the Nazarene.
