Romans 8:10 (NIV) But if Christ in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness.

Father, it is only by our faith in Jesus that we are saved and have his righteousness imparted to us. Help us to fully understand this and to humble ourselves before you for your grace and mercy to us.  Amen.

Romans 4:24 (NIV) But also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.

Righteousness is a status achieved through divine intervention and human obedience. – Joel Dahlstrom

Father, may we never look at works as a way to earn righteousness but rather a fruit of our righteousness in Jesus without whom there is no righteousness for us. Amen.
