Sometimes You Gotta Laugh – Second Sunday after Pentecost [6/14/2020]
By Carla Pratt Keyes, pastor of Ginter Park Presbyterian Church, in Richmond, Virginia.

Passage: Genesis 18:1-15 and 21:1-7

Have you ever found yourself wondering, “How can God’s promises possibly come true?” People in scripture asked this question as well. In today’s passage, Genesis 18:1-15 and 21:1-7, we find that Abraham and Sarah had given up on God’s promise of a son. Carla Pratt Keyes, pastor of Ginter Park Presbyterian Church, in Richmond, Virginia, invites us to contemplate God’s faithfulness to Abraham and Sarah. They were open to God and found joy in the midst of suffering. Can we do so as well?
